We are looking forward to meet Ericka and her travel partner tomorrow. Our very first guests here at Casa Oden! I have loaded up the little fridge with yoghurt, creme cheese and jam and filled up the basket in the window with tea bags and coffee filters. Also, there is a glass jar with granola and an other one with coffee. I want people to feel taken care of so I include a little breakfast. This room that we will rent out for travelers to Stockholm, I want it to be nice. Really nice! And so comfortable. So I am investing. I am buying things I think should be in the room to make it a great place to stay. It doesn’t bother me that I am spending (quite a bit) of money. I want to hang framed pictures of Stockholm in the room. And there are absolutely beautiful ones out there that other photographers have taken. Really beautiful! But I want to hang my own photographs. So this morning I went out and did a photo excursion in my own city. It really is a beautiful! The sun was shining and the skies and waters were blue. It was a great morning! I have enough to print, frame and hang up now. The only question is which ones I will print bigger, to hang over the couch. I’ll have to think about that....
I’m not gonna lie. It’s a big change. She’s moving out. Our daughter Emma. We love her to death and love having her around but she’s more than ready! She is moving in with her girlfriend in an adorable, small apartment, by a lake, outside Stockholm. Mike and I are both so happy for them! But what to do with the room? Mike and I certainly don’t need it. But we can certainly use it! We are going to RENT IT OUT! To any one who is looking for somewhere to sleep when they visit Stockholm for business or pleasure....
Coffee cups and candle … jars. For the guests. I’m having fun shopping for the room! We need special plates and cups and who doesn’t like a candle light at night? I also bought a bath robe today. On the weekend 12-13 April I will putty all the nail holes in the walls and repaint the room. I will bring down my mother’s old, and so pretty, dresser from the attic and the round rug for the floor. The rest of the furniture stays: A big closet, a very nice, small leather sofa, an antique side table, the bed … Then I will take pictures so that travelers to Stockholm who want to rent a room can see what it really looks like I really like to meet new people so I think I will love this new...
